Health & Social Services
The Department of Health and Human Services manages the delivery of health- and human-related services for all North Carolinians, especially our most vulnerable citizens – children, elderly, disabled and low-income families. The Department works closely with health care professionals, community leaders and advocacy groups; local, state and federal entities; and many other stakeholders to make this happen.
Low-Income Services
Low-Income Services give you access to health care, child care, housing, and financial and nutrition assistance, regardless of your financial status.
Children's Services
We provide health care, financial assistance and access to nutrition programs to children who require extra support. Find child care, learn about child support payments and enforcement, and ensure your newborn has the proper care, regardless of your financial status.
Aging & Adult Services
Aging & Adult Services works to promote the independence and enhance the dignity of North Carolina's older adults, and persons with disabilities and their families, through a community-based system of opportunities, services, benefits, and protections.
